Best at-home facial

Home Facials

Taking care of your skin is very important, and even if you can’t make it to your local spa, you can do a lot to freshen and clear-up your skin at home! I like to give myself a “mini at-home facial” at least once a week to brighten up my skin and fight acne. It’s best to do this at night so you can end by applying an effective overnight treatment.

Start by cleansing your skin really well. Wash your face first with the Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleanser to remove all makeup and debris. Then, wash a second time with IS Clinical Cleansing Complex which contains glycolic and salicylic acids and it a treatment in itself.

If you are suffering from a bit of acne and your skin is not too dry, then exfoliate with Peter Thomas Roth Blemish Buffing Beads. This jojoba based scrub contains a bit of salicylic acid and the beads disappear as you wash your face. This scrub is gentle, yet really effective, and it’s a great face scrub to use on a daily basis.

After you have exfoliated your skin and let it dry, apply DDF Sulfur Therapeutic Mask to your entire face, avoiding the eye area. Don’t skimp on your application- apply a nice, even thick layer. Let this mask set in for about 10 minutes and then wash off. It’s best if you can wear the mask while you are in the shower so that the steam can penetrate it into your skin. Don’t leave the sulfur mask on too long or it will crack and dry out your skin- defeating the whole purpose! This mask will work on acne and blemishes and is a really effective, simple treatment.

After you have washed off your mask, let your face dry and then apply IS Clinical Active Serum over your entire face, avoiding the eye area. I love this stuff – Active Serum contains clinical grade, high quality ingredients, including Salicylic Acid and Glycolic Acid. This serum will gently exfoliate your skin overnight and not help with blemishes but is a powerful anti-aging product as well!

Let the Active Serum soak into your skin and finish off with a bit of IS Clinical Hydra Cool Serum. Hydra Cool Serum is a refreshing serum moisturizer that contains powerful antioxidants, soothing hyaluronic acid and menthol, which is anti-bacterial and actually helps with breakouts. Hydra Cool leaves your skin cool and tingling. You only need a little bit of this magical moisturizer, and it’s the perfect addition to a skin care regime of IS Clinical products, and it add the perfect amount of light, greaseless moisture to your skin. Here’s a tip- put some Hydra Cool underneath your eyes before applying concealer and it helps your under eye concealer blend in and go on smoother!

Lastly, you might want to finish with a nice, gentle eye treatment cream. Decleor Harmonie Soothing Eye Contour Gel is light, feels great and is suitable for all skin types. Decleor products contain a high quality blend of essential oils and smell wonderfully calming and refreshing. Decleor Soothing Eye Gel leaves your sensitive eye area moisturized, balanced and refreshed. You will love the wonderful aromatherapy scent!

That’s it- you’re all set! You will wake up refreshed and noticeably brighter, with clearer skin! This at-home facial treatment utilizes all of my favorite products, and what I feel are the best on the market. Have fun!

What a wonderful web site you have! I have not tried any products from PTR, but have wanted to for a long time. What is your favorite, indisposable skincare item here? Thanks!

Hi Jen and everyone else! My favorite single product would be the IS Clinical Active Serum. While this product is a little more pricey then some of the others, the Active Serum has many different uses; the glycolic acid is exfoliating and anti-acneic, the salicylic acid is also anti-acneic, and this product is a powerful anti-aging serum. The ingredients in the IS Clinical product line, and namely Active Serum, are of a higher grade and quality, hence the higher cost. But trust me, it’s worth it. And, you only need about 5-7 drops so the vials lasts quite a long time.
